Dishi Na County is a transformative school feeding program by Food for Education, in partnership with the Nairobi City County Government. Our engagement with the program began at a pivotal moment—when misinformation and low public awareness were impacting how the initiative was perceived.
Despite its powerful mission, Dishi Na County faced skepticism due to limited understanding of its purpose and tangible impact. Negative sentiment, driven by misinformation, threatened to overshadow the program’s success in feeding thousands of children every school day.
We set out to shift the narrative—countering misconceptions, building public trust, and amplifying the real impact of the program. Our goal was clear: create a campaign that resonates with Nairobians and showcases the program’s value to children, parents, teachers, and the wider community
Through the “Watoi Wadishi, Washibe, Wasome” campaign, we launched a multi-platform awareness strategy focused on impact-driven storytelling. We developed compelling content that humanized the program—spotlighting children enjoying their meals, testimonials from parents and teachers, and milestones like kitchen launches and meal targets.
